Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour | weekly pay in arrears, every Friday
Hours: Monday to Friday | 5:45 am – 5:00 pm

Smart Solutions is looking for a Weighbridge Operator to join our busy waste & recycling plant based in Mitcham, CR4 area.
The successful candidate would have to be able to demonstrate good organisation and administration skills, along with the ability to communicate well.
Weighbridge Operator- Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the weighbridge, maintaining swift traffic flow and safety of vehicles on/off the weighbridge – keeping waiting times to a minimum.
- Check incoming loads, ensuring compliance with site licence and permitted waste types.
- Accurately record weights & waste type by vehicle, completing appropriate documentation and collecting driver signatures, etc.
- Process delivery notes and tickets accurately and efficiently.
- Immediately report any contamination or non-conforming wastes delivered to the site to the appropriate Manager.
- Report any anomalies/errors to the weighbridge system to the appropriate people immediately.
- Maintain relationships and deal with queries from customers and site visitors.
- Ensuring all visiting drivers/ contractors and customers are issued the site rules and have signed in and out of the site.
- Ensure that vehicles delivering to the site have the correct paperwork and EWC codes.
- Ensure that vehicles have the necessary paperwork for forward movements from the site to the destination.
- Assist Weighbridge Manager with general administrative duties and customer service, making and answering the telephone and directing calls as appropriate.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, HR and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain the weighbridge office in a clean, tidy and hazard-free condition.
- Deal with incoming and outgoing emails.
- Greet and assist visitors.

Weighbridge Operator - Person Specification:
- Previous experience in a weighbridge or waste management environment is required
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office and data entry)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good level of spoken and written English
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of health and safety practices on site
- Experience of working within a busy site would be an advantage.
