Permanent Warehouse Forklift Driver (with a career path to a Van + HGV Driver)


Pay Rate: Competitive 


Location: Portsmouth


Start Date: January 2026


We're delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established, fast-growing family business for a reliable and motivated Warehouse Forklift Driver. This position offers a genuine long-term career pathway, with the opportunity to develop into a Relief Van Driver and ultimately progress to a fully qualified HGV Driver. Full training and support are provided for the right candidate.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on warehouse work, is confident using a forklift, and is looking to build a long-term career within a supportive and friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities




  • Safely loading and unloading vehicles using a forklift




  • Preparing customer orders for dispatch




  • Maintaining an organised, tidy and efficient warehouse




  • Providing occasional relief van driving to support the transport team




  • Assisting with stock checks and general warehouse duties




  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations




  • Developing the skills required to progress into an HGV Moffett Driver role




What We're Looking For




  • A valid UK car (Category B) driving licence - essential




  • A counterbalance forklift licence




  • Strong work ethic, reliability and a positive, proactive attitude




  • Willingness to learn, develop and pursue a long-term career




  • Tacho card or any level of HGV training is beneficial but not required




  • Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
