Driver Hire Edinburgh City are currently recruiting reliable and professional Van Drivers for a variety of ad-hoc driving opportunities across East Lothian and the surrounding areas.
This is a great opportunity for experienced van drivers looking for flexible work, whether you're looking to pick up extra shifts, work around other commitments or simply want the freedom of ad-hoc driving.
The Role
As a Van Driver, your duties may include:
- Driving a 3.5T van safely and responsibly
- Completing local and regional deliveries and collections
- Carrying out multi-drop deliveries where required
- Loading and unloading goods
- Ensuring goods are handled safely and securely
- Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
- Completing delivery paperwork accurately
- Providing professional and friendly customer service
- Ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time
The type of work will vary depending on the client, meaning no two shifts are necessarily the same!
Working Hours
- Ad-hoc shifts available
- Typical start times from 6:00am-7:00am, depending on the assignment
- Minimum 8 hours guaranteed per shift
- Shifts available depending on client requirements and your availability
- Opportunities to pick up additional shifts when available
Pay Rates
PAYE
- £13.00 per hour
- £17.32 per hour after 8 hours
PAYE Advanced
- £14.57 per hour
- £19.42 per hour after 8 hours
What We're Looking For
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous van driving experience preferred
- Maximum of 9 penalty points
- No DD, DR, CD, DG or IN endorsements
- Comfortable with manual handling
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Flexible and available to work ad-hoc shifts
- Positive attitude and willingness to work
