Driver Hire has a very rare opportunity for an engineering-minded HGV driver to join a local Farnborough company.
The successful candidate will be trained and certified to calibrate, install and repair Tachograph units.
You will need an HGV licence because you will also be required to carry out road tests. As well as sometimes collect and deliver lorries from customers' premises.
Newly qualified drivers will even be considered. Evidence of a suitable background that lends itself to this type of work is more important than pure driving experience.
**** Benefits, Hours and Pay of the Cat C, HGV Class 2 Driver / Engineer ****
- Salary between £30,000 and £32,000 depending on experience
- 28 days paid holiday
- Typically 7.30am to 4.30pm
- Monday to Friday
**** Responsibilities of the Cat C, HGV Class 2 Driver / Engineer ****
- Install, calibrate and repair in-cab tacho units
- Collect and deliver Cat C HGVs
- Daily walk round vehicle checks
- Follow all H&S regulations
- Adhere to government guidelines and follow set procedures
- Be happy working as part of a small team

- UK licence with Cat C entitlement
- CPC card
- Digi tacho
- Fitting, mechanical or technical experience
- Verifiable references
- Max 6 minor penalty points
