We're looking for an experienced System Controller to join the team! If you have a flexible approach to working, great attention to detail and are ready for a challenge, this really could be the role for you. This is a full time, 9 months fixed term contract opportunity.
You'll work 7 out of every 14 days on 12-hour shifts - 2 weeks on the day shift 06:00 - 18:00, followed by 2 weeks on the night shift 18:00 - 06:00, 42 hours per week on average. We promise its less complex than it looks and gives you a great work life balance!
Week 1 days/night shift pattern - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
Week 2 days/night shift pattern - Wednesday and Thursday (the one you look forward to!)

You'll be paid a salary of up to £33,529.56 per annum. What you'll do on a typical day:
- Liaise with the Swisslog engineers - you'll be the eyes and the ears of the operation
- Escalate and report any system issues to the control room manager that may have a negative impact on the operation - there will be times you have to manage these issues on your own so you must be able to think on your feet
- Shortage management and escalations to the customer and GXO team on site - nobody wants to be without their Quality Street at Christmas after all!
- Ensure the site systems are running efficiently and where possible reduce system down time
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse control room
- Knowledge and experience working in an inventory/stock team
- Attention to detail is key for this role, there really is no room for error
- A flexible approach to shift work - some days may be long, and we get you may get tired but the rewards and development in the role will make it all worth it
- Strong aptitude towards warehouse management systems and associated technologies
