Site Operative – Upminster (RM14)
Pay: £12.86 per hour
Hours:
- Mon–Fri: 7:30am – 4:30pm
- Sat–Sun: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Shift Pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off
Please note: Due to the remote location of the site and limited public transport links, applicants must have reliable access to their own transport.
Smart Solutions are recruiting a Site Operative in Upminster (RM14) location. This role is ideal for someone reliable, flexible and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and service. You’ll be part of a busy operational team supporting essential recycling and waste services.
About the Role
You’ll play an important part in the day‑to‑day running of the site, ensuring safe and efficient operations at all times. Previous experience at a Transfer Station is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all site operating procedures and health & safety guidelines
- Maintain a clean and tidy working environment, including walkways and roadways
- Traffic marshalling – guiding vehicles safely into designated areas
- Assist and advise members of the public on correct disposal locations for recyclable materials
- Ensure minimal contamination within recycling streams
- Report any safety concerns or operational issues to the Team Leader or Manager
- General housekeeping duties as required

- Must drive – the site is remote and not accessible by public transport
