Our Bulmers cider is a fabric brand in Ireland, the number one by far and our teams in Ireland are proud to manufacture, market, distribute and sell to thousands of customers, with teams right across Ireland and offices in major cities like Dublin, Clonmel and Cork.

Purpose of the role:

Overall accountability for all aspects of manufacturing operations at Clonmel. You will lead the site leadership team to deliver all agreed objectives and service in a cost effective and sustainable way.

About the role

As a leader in this role, you will provide strategic direction and foster a positive culture at the site, ensuring all individuals are engaged and motivated to seize opportunities. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing a comprehensive 3-year plan for manufacturing operations, aligned with financial goals and incorporating health and safety (H&S), food safety, authenticity, legality, quality, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will ensure full compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements, including EPA, IPPC, and food safety standards. Enhancing health and safety, quality, and service objectives will be a key focus, recognizing these as critical to manufacturing performance. You'll promote a culture that values people and product safety, ensuring a strong emphasis on food safety and quality culture throughout the organization.

Your role will involve setting clear development and improvement plans for food safety and quality culture, ensuring continuous enhancement in these areas. You will achieve site objectives through a cascade process, establishing functional objectives and KPIs for approximately 200 staff across various shifts to meet targets effectively.

Collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team and operational finance will be crucial in developing and delivering the annual operating P&L budget. You will also deepen your understanding of the broader commercial and market context to optimize manufacturing operations' responsiveness.

Leading the people development process is another key responsibility, ensuring that objectives are met and that succession planning and development are in place. You will maintain or exceed industry and customer standards, such as BRC, by securing the necessary commitment, support, and resources.

As an advocate for food safety and quality culture, you will lead by example, promoting a mindset where food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality are recognized as everyone's responsibility. Additionally, you will represent Bulmers operations in both local and national activities as needed.
