Purpose of the Role
- Reporting to the Head of Technology Infrastructure Delivery, the Programme Manager is responsible for leading Programme & Project Managers in shaping, prioritising, and delivering Technology delivery workstreams, and/or Platform Architecture, to underpin the new Asda IT Operating Environment.

- Building and maintaining strong relationships, fostering a culture of identifying and implementing lessons learned through Asda Digital and Technology
- Working closely with Business stakeholders and delivery teams to co-ordinate cross tower activities
- Managing plans, as well as prioritising and negotiating at a senior level within Digital and Technology to ensure that the Programme will deliver the expected objectives of cost and quality within time constraints
- Leading, coaching, and developing a team of Programme Managers and Project Managers to deliver the programme in line with Asda objectives. Driving a positive change environment and culture of diversity
- Accountable for budgets, costs, timescales, resource utilisation, capitalisation, and the associated communication to effectively manage the Asda Digital and Technology programmes
- Accountable for the accurate creation and central recording of project plans, cost plans and delivery dependencies related to all project activity
- Owning multiple vendor relationships to ensure on time delivery at high quality
- Negotiating at a senior level to drive delivery performance and commercial success
- Identifying and communicating risks, concerns, issues, dependencies and initiating appropriate escalation to the Senior Leadership Team
- Delivering high quality products and services in a fully serviceable state including hand-over to service support teams.

What You’ll Need
- Proven ability to manage and lead large scale budgets, resource and third party spend
- Business change and Technology transformation experience – Retail experience advantageous
- Experience of pulling together large-scale project plans for programmes that incorporate multiple suppliers.
- Proven track record of managing large cross functional and third-party resource in multiple locations in the UK and Internationally within a project environment
- Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills and ability to effectively engage and influence on a Global level
- Knowledge of Azure Cloud and other Cloud/Digital technologies
- Adherence to architectural principles, and project and programme management methodology with a focus on both speed and effectiveness
- Ability to manage a heavy personal and team workload against challenging timelines and competing priorities
