“Find your role”

The Enterprise Risk Manager is responsible for leading the Enterprise Risk Program. This role, reporting to a Senior Internal Audit Manager, will coordinate the overall Enterprise Risk Management Framework for ASDA, including owning policies, standards, procedures, and reporting. The Enterprise Risk Manager is also responsible for aggregating risk data for submission to management and various Committees.

What you’ll do?

  • This strategic role will involve further development of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including taking into account relevant industry best practice to help Asda manage its risks and take calculated opportunities.
  • You will work to deliver and continuously improve the existing Enterprise Risk Management Programme. This will include managing the quarterly enterprise risk assessment process by engaging with functional senior management teams to update risk registers.
  • You will be a key point of contact for business stakeholders and be responsible for managing these relationships.
  • You will support the Internal Audit Leadership team in preparing papers for key meetings such as Executive Committee and Audit Committee and deliver meaningful reporting.
  • You will help to promote a strong risk culture of integrity, transparency, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement by educating and training colleagues on risk management.
  • You will work with the Internal Audit team to champion risk management and be responsible for ensuring risk deliverables are of a high quality.

  • You will be an audit or risk professional with a track record of creating value through risk management activity.
  • You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You will be able to deliver messages with impact, both in terms of written reporting and verbal presentations.
  • You will be comfortable managing your own workload to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • You will be able to demonstrate good attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
  • You will be able to demonstrate agility and will be comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment.
  • You will be great at working in teams, collaborating with others and building relationships with stakeholders.
  • You will be curious and interested to learn and develop.
  • Retail sector experience would be advantageous but not a pre-requisite.
  • Relevant qualification is required (e.g. accountancy, audit or risk professional).
