Job Purpose/Objectives of a Planning & Design Technician

 

Assisting in the production of crane lift plans and working as part of a team dealing with day to day technical queries

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities of a Planning & Design Technician 

  • Producing crane lift plans.
  • Dealing with technical queries.
  • Liaising with clients & sales/technical staff in producing CAD drawings.
  • Creating and revising production drawings.
  • Keeping abreast of related latest technology.
  • Utilising knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics to complete drawings.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining and organised file system for production drawings.
  • General CAD administration duties.
  • To ensure accuracy with organisation standards.
  • Continually seek to improve the way in which the role operates within the business to achieve its objectives.

 

Person Specification

 

Education/Knowledge/Experience for a Planning & Design Technician

  • 3D capability and experience is desirable, but not essential
  • Design / Planning experience or qualification
  • Experience in the construction or lifting industry is desirable. 
  • Blue Prints-Able to read and understand construction drawings.
  • A high achiever who likes to work to challenging goals.

  • Ability to deliver value added service to customers.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues. And to able to collate and analyse data
