Spinwell is recruiting for a Patient Safety & Mortality Clinical Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.



The post holder is a member of the Patient Safety Team. This role will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing incidents management (including high level and serious incidents) and death review process.

The post holder will be responsible for the line management of the Mortality and Incident Review Team including administrative support. Will be responsible for ensuring that processes are in place for disseminating lessons learnt across the organisation, providing advice and support to clinical and other staff, including supporting in the management of incident reporting on Datix and conduct of Serious Incident reviews.



  • Healthcare professional qualification and current professional registration
  • Post graduate qualification in RCA or equivalent subject
  • First Degree in healthcare, public sector management or equivalent
  • Detailed working knowledge of best practice in Health Care delivery and governance
  • Detailed working knowledge of Trust policies and procedures pertaining to patient safety, risk management and mortality
  • Awareness of legislation related to relevant fields of health care
  • High level knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and/or other frameworks for investigation of serious incidents
  • High levels of knowledge of mortality/morbidity related issues and best practice in end-of-life associated matters
  • Detailed working knowledge of systems used manage the SI process and outcomes required by CCGs and NHSE
