Job Title: Nights Transport Planner
Location: Knowsley, Liverpool
Reports to: Planning Manager
Job Type: Full Time
Salary: £37,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
Hours of Work: Mon-Fri Rota (between the hours of 16:00 and 07:00)
Additional Requirements: Occasional Bank holidays (Rota'd)
Committed and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our vibrant night shift team working full-time with 10-hour shifts from Monday - Friday, hours of work each week will be on a rota system of 16:00 – 02:00, 18:00 – 04:00 and 21:00 – 07:00. Hours may vary to suit operational needs.
** A deep understanding of the container industry with prior experience with container planning, and Port / Rail Terminal VBS systems is essential for this position **
This role demands strong analytical abilities, effective communication, and the capability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
Duties
- Effectively deliver a demanding night shift work profile, making positive live amendments to the plan throughout the shift to achieve required delivery expectations.
- Work closely with supply chain teams to guarantee timely delivery of goods.
- Analyse data to identify trends and make informed logistics decisions.
- Manage relationships with customers and drivers, delivering exceptional service and promptly addressing any concerns.
- Use IT systems, including TOPPS, VBS, Excel and Word, to maintain accurate records and generate reports.
- Lead initiatives focused on enhancing transport efficiency and effectiveness.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth operations within the office environment.
- Provide a thorough and detailed Handover to Day shift teams.

Requirements
- Proven experience in transport planning within the container sector, is essential.
- Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication.
- Previous experience with operating systems – TOPPS (container transport system), Various VBS systems, Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to manage client expectations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
- Strong IT skills, with a quick adaptability to new software and technologies.
- Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
