We require a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team working as a key maintenance team member, you will carry out reactive, predictive and planned maintenance.
This opportunity will be working a continental shift pattern based on the following;
4 on 4 off continental shift pattern, days only. 6.00am -18.30pm
What You Will Be Doing:
To operate as part of a team to ensuring that the plant is running at an optimum level, minimising downtown and achieving all internal maintenance demands, in an effective and timely manner
Key Responsibilities:
• Carrying out effective mechanical and/or electrical maintenance and repair on machinery and services
• Ensuring machinery and services are maintained to meet individual department's requirements
• Conducting appropriate checks on machinery/equipment
• Operating machinery and equipment only when trained, including start-ups, shut downs and maintaining operations at the agreed level, maximizing productivity
• To communicate effectively and accurately any information about stock requirements
• Compilation of any reports in relation to work undertaken including but not limited to: Fault Repairs, PPM, Overtime, Lost Time Reports, Breakdown Reports and expenditure
• Ensure that all machinery and equipment is used of a safe standard, and any malfunctions/missing components are immediately reported
• To take personal responsibility for their own and others safety through safe working practices
• Responsible for machinery isolation
• Responsible for care of tools and equipment used
• Participation in shift briefings
• Liaising with production team to support continuous improvement
• To buddy new employees to share knowledge of the job and plant
• Adhering to all site policies
• Dynamic risk assessment for bespoke jobs and ensure involvement of appropriate staff
• Quick and effective repairing of all equipment
• Completion of work arising from daily action lists to agreed time and priority
• Sign off on all work completed
• Keep records of parts and equipment used
• Maintain good standards of housekeeping leaving all working areas clean and tidy
• Reporting of defects with tools and equipment
• To work with off-going/oncoming operative to ensure effective handover of area between shifts
About You:
• Time served Mechanical / Electrical engineer
• Previous experience of manufacturing or processing industry; and major plant and equipment
• Proven track record of problem solving
• Experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance systems
• Exposure to Dynamic risk assessments
• Experience of having actively participated in team briefings or involvement in continuous improvement
• Previous experience in a similar role is essential
• Nationally recognised apprenticeship minimum Level 3
• Welding and Fabrication experience
