Mobile Plant Operator – Leatherhead
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mobile Plant Operator to join a busy recycling facility based in Leatherhead (KT22).
This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role involving the safe operation of mobile plant machinery, including 360 Grab and Loading Shovel equipment, to support the processing and movement of recyclable materials on site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machinery safely, efficiently and in line with site procedures, while maintaining high standards of health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a 360 Grab and Loading Shovel to process, move and load recyclable materials.
- Safely operate site vehicles and mobile plant equipment.
- Carry out daily machine checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
- Ensure all machinery is operated in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
- Support the day-to-day running of the recycling facility.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist with general site duties when required.
- Follow all health and safety procedures at all times.
Requirements
- Valid NPORS, CPCS or recognised in-house plant operator qualification.
- Previous experience operating mobile plant machinery.
- Experience within a recycling, waste management, quarry or industrial environment is preferred.
- Good understanding of site safety procedures.
- Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay & Benefits
- £14.78 per hour basic rate.
- Overtime available paid at £22.17 per hour.
- Monday to Friday working hours, 7:00am – 5:00pm.
