We are seeking an Electrical / Maintenance Engineer to help provide reactive and preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment at our Holmewood site.

Shift Available: Working 40 hours per week Monday - Friday 7am-3.30pm or 8am- 4.30pm depending on preference.

Salary:  £45,000-£50,000 depending on experience

The role:

In this role you will:

  • Diagnose and Resolve Equipment Failures: Quickly respond to faults across mechanical, electrical, and-including cranes, conveyors, refrigeration, and plant utilities-identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks in line with PPM programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

  • Monitor and Maintain Coldstore Systems: Regularly inspect and ensure the Coldstore plant is operating within temperature thresholds. Support the refrigeration servicing schedules and report any deviations or concerns to leadership promptly.

  • Resolve breakdowns, reduce downtime, and improve reliability of electrical and mechanical equipment.

  • Support the wider team in working together to solve problems to keep our facility moving.

  • You will do some of this work in a cold environment - approximately minus 18 Celsius - just like working in the freezer; but we provide full PPE to keep you warm.

  • At times work on ladders at height.

Who we're looking for:

  • A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Electrical Engineering beneficial but not essential (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent)

  • Proven hands-on experience in a maintenance role, ideally with refrigeration experience and mobile racking

  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across mechanical and electrical systems

  • Familiarity with food safety standards, health & safety legislation, and maintenance best practices

  • Willingness to learn and improve your skills.

  • Effective communicator in English with a proactive and adaptable approach
