Loading Shovel Operator
Location: DE65
Pay: £15.30 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 17:00 (47.5 hours per week)
Overtime: Saturday paid at time and a half | Sunday paid at double time
Start: Immediate
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Loading Shovel Operator to join a busy waste and recycling operation based in DE65.
This is a full-time, ongoing position offering regular hours and excellent overtime opportunities.
Duties include:
- Operating a loading shovel safely and efficiently.
- Loading articulated (HGV) vehicles.
- Loading waste collection vehicles.
- Loading tunnels, shredders, screeners and other equipment involved in the composting process.
- Moving and stockpiling materials around the site.
- Carrying out routine maintenance on mobile plant, including greasing and cleaning.
- Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
- Following all site health and safety procedures.
- Supporting the wider site team with general operational duties as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating a loading shovel.
- A valid Loading Shovel licence (NPORS, CPCS or equivalent).
- A good understanding of health and safety within a waste, recycling or industrial environment.
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team.
