Job Description

Junior C# Developer 

(Salary Range £45,000 - £55,000) 

 

Work under guidance of Senior Programmers and Programming Management to help our customers solve automotive manufacturing problems with logic.  While we do have standard applications, our customers often want modifications.  These can be as simple as changing the data in an export or as complex as building a custom application.   Our newest applications are written in C#, but there are legacy applications that exist in VB6 and VB.Net.  We do not write new code in those languages typically, but we do have to be able to support them.  There is an aspect of support which is done using a rotation of programmers.  Our Junior Programmers will also support software upgrades and code reviews for customers using legacy applications. 

 

Junior C# Developers will have multiple duties including, but not limited to: 

Work from Agile/Scrum board during sprints 

Review tasks as needed with Senior Developers/Management 

Review code for customer upgrades from legacy applications 

Convert code from VB6 legacy applications to .Net as needed 

Use MS SQL as needed within code, stored procedures, function, etc. to store and retrieve data 

Follow company procedures for writing code, testing code, and logging time 

Attend Daily Scrum Meetings 

The Junior C# Developer requirements are as follows: 

Must have demonstrable programming experience in C# and/or VB.Net 

Ability to learn to read VB.Net/VB6 code to facilitate conversion to C# 

Familiarity with Git/TFS, or at least some variation of source control 

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 

The ideal Junior C# Conversion Developer will also have the following qualifications: 

Bachelors’ Degree in related field (Computer Science, MIS, CIS, etc.) 

Relevant experience may be substituted for a degree  

Fast Learner and Problem Solver by nature
