HSEQ Adviser

Sapphire Utility Solutions are a leading provider of award-winning services to the clean water, wastewater, gas, digital networks and highways sector. Established in 2013, we have quickly gone from strength to strength and continue to grow.

Due to company growth we are looking for to appoint an experienced Health Safety, Environmental & Quality Adviser based out of our Head office at Bamberbridge however your role will be mainly to cover contracts in the North of the country so there is an element of travel within the role 

 

Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality Advisor Job Description;

  • Support / facilitate Sapphire HSEQ Manager (North)
  • Support client requirements UU Waste Water & Yorkshire Water contract
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of HSEQ policies and procedures.
  • Weekly activity logging with target progression for HSEQ statistical improvements
  • Inspection; site & depot (weekly / monthly)
  • Internal auditing in line with ISO standards & SSIP
  • Working as part of HSEQ team to excel Sapphire contract Health & Safety continuous improvement.
  • Subcontractor vetting activity
  • Communications; tool box talks, safety bulletin production
  • Facilitate depot Facility Plan Log reviews (Sapphire controlled & Sapphire compound UU controlled sites)
  • Assistance with risk management such as job task analysis, method statements and risk assessments for non-core projects
  • CDM awareness and support with non-core CDM projects
  • Induction training and administration
  • Where required HSE RIDDOR reporting
  • Reviewing and updating COSHH register / producing COSHH assessments

Desirable;

  • Previous UU waste water experience
  • Environmental certification e.g. IEMA Associate
  • Internal auditing qualification

 

  • Nebosh General Level 3 Certificate or
  • Nebosh Construction Level 3 certificate
  • NRSWA Streetworks (else training provided)
  • Working towards IOSH technician level
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Experience of providing administrative support and using Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage with internal and external at all levels
  • Car Driver Essential due to nature of the work

Hours of work:  40 hours per week - Monday to Friday - Flexibility will be required on occasions due to travel to sites
