Driver Hire Leeds West are currently working along several reputable logistics companies based within the Leeds area to recruit several HGV Class 2 Drivers to join our team to work on our customers various assignments in the Leeds West Area.
We are looking for drivers with experience who would be happy to work on either
a full time, part time or ad-hoc basis. However,
reliability is paramount.
We often find ourselves having to cover shifts at the last minute, so a degree of
flexibility is asked of all our drivers for us to be able to cover all our available shifts.
Therefore, you must be able to communicate clearly with our consultants regarding your availability for work. It's imperative we know who is available and when in case a last-minute shift becomes available.
We work alongside a number of companies within the Leeds area; from multi-drop to RDC work, you're work will be very varied.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough vehicle checks and maintain cleanliness.
- Hook up loaded trailers and transport freight to designated destinations.
- Performing daily checks on the vehicle to ensure it's roadworthy, including checking the engine, brakes and lights.
- Keeping accurate records of deliveries, milage, fuel usage and hours worked.
- Following all road and traffic laws including adhering to weight limits and driving time regulations.
- There will be an element of public facing interaction with this role therefore we ask drivers to have good customer service skills and represent us in a professional manner.
Requirements:
- Valid UK Class 2 license, CPC Card & Digi Card.
- Minimum 2 years of experience driving goods vehicles - this is for insurance purposes.
- You should have experience of handballing, loading and unloading vehicles. Use of tail gates and electric pump-trucks. Use of handheld PDA's would also be advantageous.
We're also keen to speak to candidates who have in-date HIAB and Moffett tickets.
Compensation: Our Payrates start at
£15.24ph work, however, more can be earned with overtime
weekends rates exceeding £18.27.
These rates include Holiday Pay upfront. We operate a PAYE payroll, and therefore we are unable to work within the realms of IR35, or work with LTD Drivers.
