HGV Class 2 Driver
Location: Barnsley
Work Pattern: Monday to Saturday
Guaranteed Work: 5 shifts per week
Smart Solutions are currently recruiting experienced and reliable HGV Class 2 Drivers to join our client based in Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for regular, ongoing work with guaranteed weekly shifts and competitive rates of pay.
Start times Monday to Friday range between 4:00am and 8:30am.
Pay Rates
Monday to Friday
- Starts between 4:00am and 1:00pm: £16.25 per hour
- Starts before 4:00am or after 1:00pm: £18.25 per hour
Saturday
- Any start time: £19.25 per hour
Sunday & Bank Holidays
- Any start time: £22.25 per hour
The Role
As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for delivering goods safely and efficiently while providing excellent customer service.
Your duties will include:
- Completing 2–5 deliveries per day.
- Loading and unloading goods, with handball involved.
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks before each shift.
- Completing delivery paperwork accurately.
- Delivering goods safely and on time.
- Providing excellent customer service at each delivery point.
- Following all road transport, Driver Hours and health & safety regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving experience.
- Valid UK Category C (Class 2) driving licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements).
- Comfortable with manual handling and handball duties.
- Reliable, professional and punctual.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
