Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently seeking experienced Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to support a range of clients across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.
This role is ideal for drivers looking for flexible, ad hoc work that fits around their schedule while maintaining a great work-life balance.
The Role
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks before each shift
- Completing a mix of trunking and delivery work, including local and occasional long-distance runs
- Transporting palletised goods between depots and distribution centres
- Minimal manual handling, with forklift loading/unloading where applicable
- Ensuring all paperwork and delivery records are completed accurately
- Following all driving laws, Working Time Directive (WTD), and health & safety procedures
Working Patterns
- Flexible shifts based on your availability
- A range of start times including days, backs, and occasional nights
- Weekday and weekend work available depending on demand
- Typical shift length: 8-12 hours
Pay Rates
PAYE:
- £15.50 per hour
- £20.66 per hour (after 8 hours)
PAYE Advanced:
- £17.37 per hour
- £23.15 per hour (after 8 hours)
Minimum 8 hours' pay guaranteed per shift
Weekly pay
Holiday pay included within PAYE Advanced rate
Requirements
- Valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
- Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
- No more than 9 penalty points (no major endorsements)
- Minimum 1 year HGV driving experience
- Reliable, professional, and safety-focused attitude
Additional Information
- Drug and alcohol testing may be carried out during induction and at random
- Full site induction and training provided where required
