Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a Head Chef to join our team in Leyland, supporting our customer Waitrose. As a Head Chef, you will support the catering team in delivery of quality food service and customer service, assisting in all areas of the dining room and kitchen.


This is a full time, permanent position, predominately working Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 15:00 however, we do ask for flexibility when required.

We're looking to offer a salary of up to £15.89 per hour (£30,989.88 per annum), and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you'll do on a typical day:


  • Lead Kitchen/catering team to produce menus and food offer giving great customer service and experience
  • Maintain effective and consistent food offer, financial budgets while developing the team in catering provision and food service
  • Cleaning and hygiene tasks as required by HACCAP food safety policy
  • Production and service of planned menus as allocated by the Catering Manager


What you need to succeed at GXO:


  • Ability to produce menus, manage purchasing and assist the catering manager with weekly stocktake and bookwork
  • Level 2 or above food safety qualification
  • Previous supervisory role in food production and customer service would be desirable
