About the Role

Training and development is a key part of enhancing our proposition at C&C Group. With a view to not only recruit, retain and grow our customers but drive shared value and income generation through market place training for customers and our colleagues across the group on our key categories, wine portfolio and brands. You will work within a team of individuals who hold the unique level of accreditations required such as WSET approved accreditations to deliver classroom workshops, formal qualifications and digital learning courses.  

Key Accountabilities

  • Designing and developing training which captures the imagination of our customers, demonstrating our in-depth understanding of their business and training needs.
  • Delivering training which is fun, engaging and learner-focused. Training is all about changing behaviour and your ability to convey concepts in simple terms and inspire others to do something new is far more important than encyclopaedic knowledge.
  • Planning and delivering a range of courses including our own Wine Champions, Wine Confidence, Beer Untapped and Train the Trainer workshops, plus the WSET Level 1, 2 and 3 Awards. You will bring the WSET courses to life by adding your own personal style to the standard material. (Training will be sponsored if you do not currently hold WSET Educator status.)
  • Providing advice to the Sales and Channel Marketing teams working collaboratively to develop creative training solutions for mostly on-trade customers. Including supporting with customer pitches
  • Writing straightforward and relevant training materials using simple language and relevant terms, including writing content for marketing and supporting our Digital Learning Manager to create digital content for our e-learning platform
  • Coordinating your own calendar, managing all logistical aspects of running workshops and working with the Customer Training Co-ordinator to ensure courses are well-attended

About you 

  • Highly personable and articulate with the confidence to talk to large groups
  • Thorough understanding of the UK on-trade – perhaps even coming from a hospitality background
  • Experience of training others
  • A confident communicator, via both spoken and written channels
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with key stakeholders at various levels, including client-side
  • Organised and proactive
  • Proficient in standard IT programmes – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and generally IT savvy
  • Working knowledge of e-learning including LMS & e-learning authoring tools a bonus

PREFERRED:

  • Excellent wine knowledge (minimum WSET Level 3, Diploma highly desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of the beer category and brewing process (formal qualifications such as WSET Beer Level 2/Level 3, or Ciccerone highly desirable)
  • WSET Certified Educator Qualification desirable (Training will be sponsored if you do not currently hold WSET
  • Educator status.)
