Cost Engineer - Central Government

Role: Cost Engineer REF 79441
Contract Length: 10 Months
Location: Hybrid/Aldermaston or Winnersh - 2 days on site, remainder remote.
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: Market Rate
Security Clearance: SC and British Citizen requested

Spinwell is recruiting for a Cost Engineer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COST ENGINEER 

• Support detailed SPI, CPI variance analysis and root cause analysis, including input to the narrative, recommendations & recovery planning in accordance with monthly reporting timescales.
• Support the creation of the Project Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and assist the preparation of cost studies utilising historical data. Providing data for benchmarking information to meet specific needs.
• Support trended data to assist the Project Manager based on performance to date and seek emerging trends to aid recommendations.
• Review manpower productivity and time bookings to projects including resource usage vs. planned, identify resource constraints, etc. and support recommendations to the Project Manager.

  SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE COST ENGINEER

  • Good standard of general education, including business / project management qualification or equivalent or proven level of experience.
  • Experience of NEC Contracts
  • Diverse experience of forecasting
  • Diverse experience in receipting
  • Extensive MS Excel experience
  • Fine with Public or private sector experience.
