Class 1 HGV Driver – Tramping & Multi-Drop

Class 1 HGV Driver | C+E | Tramping | Nights Out | Multi-Drop | Early Starts

We're looking for an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join a busy and established operation delivering goods across the UK.

This is a genuine tramping and multi-drop driving role for drivers who are happy spending several nights away from home and enjoy a varied working week.

The job involves early starts, multiple deliveries and a fair amount of handball, so this position is best suited to a driver who is physically fit, hardworking and comfortable with a hands-on delivery role.

The Job

As a Class 1 Driver, you'll be responsible for:

• Driving a Class 1 / C+E HGV


• Completing multi-drop deliveries across the UK


• Working early morning starts


• Spending nights away from home as part of the role


• Tramping and completing overnight stays in the vehicle


• Carrying out handball deliveries, so you must be comfortable with manual handling


• Loading and unloading goods safely


• Securing loads correctly before setting off


• Completing daily vehicle checks


• Delivering goods safely and on time


• Dealing professionally with customers and delivery sites


• Completing delivery paperwork where required


• Working within drivers' hours and tachograph regulations

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a reliable and experienced Class 1 HGV Driver who is comfortable with the demands of tramping and multi-drop work.

You'll need:

• A valid Class 1 / Category C+E licence


• Previous Class 1 HGV driving experience


• Experience with multi-drop deliveries


• Flexibility for early starts and nights out


• The ability and willingness to carry out regular handball


• A good understanding of load security


• A professional and reliable approach to work


• Good communication and customer service skills


• The ability to work independently while away from home

Please be aware: this is a physically demanding role due to the amount of handball involved.

Driving Licence Requirements

Strict licence criteria apply.

All drivers must:

• Have no more than 6 penalty points


• Have no DR endorsements


• Have no IN endorsements


• Have no DD endorsements

Driving licences will be checked as part of the recruitment process.
