Class 1 Roll-On / Roll-Off Driver
Location: Chelmsford, CM2
Pay Rate: £18.60 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 4-day working week
Smart Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Class 1 Roll-On / Roll-Off (RoRo) Driver to join a busy waste and recycling operation in Chelmsford.
This is a full-time role involving the collection, movement and emptying of commercial waste containers using Roll-On / Roll-Off vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Class 1 Roll-On / Roll-Off vehicles safely and efficiently
- Travel to planned collection locations across the designated route
- Collect, transport and empty commercial waste containers
- Accurately record job information using the onboard system
- Complete and submit all required paperwork
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
- Ensure loads remain within legal weight restrictions
- Follow all road traffic, transport and site Health & Safety regulations
- Maintain a professional standard when dealing with customers and site personnel
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous RoRo or waste industry driving experience preferred
- Good understanding of driver hours, vehicle checks and transport compliance
- Reliable and able to work independently
- Comfortable managing planned collection routes
